Scheme of Work for Secondary Art - Drawing, Painting & Printmaking
Foreword
I have been developing my scheme of work throughout the two placement schools during the PGCE year. When I was doing my PGCE at the SE1, I realised there is a large gap in transitioning from drawing to painting about the correct use of various tools. Moreover, there is a clear absence of art history within the KS3 (perhaps KS4) Art Curriculum, which I think is truly indispensable from art as a whole.
Therefore, I developed my Year 7 to Year 9 Art Curriculum (Still Working on Progress) with a technical approach blended with (Burgess & Burgess, 2017). This SOW is to aim to lay a solid foundation for students before the start of the GCSE year.
