This video work depicts my progression and transformation of my identity through a perspective of photosynthesis. As I see myself as a plant through reviewing my artistic practices, through this work, I want to revisit myself through plant but also letters that my friends gave me in the past. I chose some of the wordings from these letters and rewrite into a new “paragraph”, hence healing by my gesture of rubbing the leave with a sense of intimacy. Overall, this whole process is my own “photosynthesis” which concludes my past but opens up my future.
Regarding the site of these footages, I chose a place which is near to the highway as I consider highway is a pathway but not a final destination or site. Therefore, this work is similar to a pathway to search for the answer of my past identity, while healing myself as well.
